Community Luncheon and Dialogue 

Luncheon is free and open to the community.

The event features live music performances and a speech by Dr. Russell Rickford.

Dr. Rickford specializes in the black radical tradition and black political culture after WWII. A native of Guyana, Rickford holds a Bachelor’s from Howard University, a Master’s in African-American Studies from Columbia, and completed his doctorate at Columbia University in 2009.

A special presentation and dialogue – Boys to Men: the Next Generation of Manhood – will also be held at 11:00 AM in the Beverly J. Martin library. The young men’s group will share their experiences around their travels to the Million Man March.

The day is organized by the Greater Ithaca Activities Center; the Multicultural Resource Center; the Center for Transformative Action; the Cornell Public Service Center; the GreenStar Cooperative Market, Ithaca College’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, Campus Life at Cornell University; Ithaca College’s Center for Student Leadership and Involvement; and Cornell Cooperative Extension of TC and community members.
