The YMCA of Ithaca & Tompkins County has been a cornerstone in our community for over 100 years! Through many transitions, the Y has come to a place of restoration, inclusivity, transparency, equity, and community engagement. We are so excited to learn more about the new and innovative programs and ways that the Y is incorporating DEI into what they do every day. Join us for this special visit on May 10 at noon! There may be a surprise for all who join us 🙂
Site visits are an important part of our community engagement strategy and are a chance to connect with the people who are doing great work on the ground. It’s also a chance to see firsthand the staff’s enthusiasm for their mission, their commitment to it, and their hopes for the future. Our goal is to create an experience of co-discovery from engagement and dialogue during the visit. Our goals are to:
· Build trust and strengthen relationships
· Explore shared interest areas, share knowledge and identify possible new ways of working together to serve common goals
· Gain information beyond what is obtained from a written report
