Annual Celebration Photo Gallery

Community Foundation recognizing the theme of UNITY, inviting us to understand, celebrate and support each other.  Frank Kruppa, Board of Directors, Vice-Chair, shared Community Foundation’s mission: bringing people and resources together to build a more equitable community by inspiring diverse philanthropy, catalyzing collaborations, and championing inclusion and justice. Ben Sandberg, Executive Director of The History Center welcomed community members to the Tompkins Center for History  and Culture, reminding attendees of the many organizations are part of the space; also giving context and collective acknowledgement that Tompkins County is located on the traditional, ancestral, and contemporary lands of the Gayogohono Nation.  Olivia Carpenter, founder of Via’s Cookies related parts of her journey crafting cookies as a way to uplift her community focusing on social justice and relating to BIPoC and LGTBQ+ students.  Several passionate local leaders, representing four of the twelve organizations that are part of the Center of History and Culture, spoke about their programs and impact within our communities.  Panelists included: Laura Branca, Dorothy Cotton Institute; Megan Barber, Community Arts Partnership (CAP); Gretchen Worth, Christopherson Center for Community Planning; Julia de Aragon, Latino Civic Association.  Nancy Massicci, Community Foundation staff member, thanks Frank Torelli, Wealth Advisor, CFCU Community Credit Union and Door Opener Society 2023 Awardee.  George Ferrari, CEO, Community Foundation calls for community members to take action and impact our community.  Attendees filled the room with energy!
