2023 Resilient Communities Fall Grant Cycle: $307,477 Granted in 123 Grants to 58 Organizations

This cycle provided unrestricted support to organizations meeting community needs. The Fall Grant Cycle makes grants from the Community Foundation’s Tompkins, Today, and Tomorrow Fund and our Community Impact Fund as well as varied donor advised and field of interest funds.

With respect we acknowledge the challenges and hardships created by economic conditions impacting us all that resulted in Community Foundation having less funding to distribute in 2023 relative to 2022. With endowment funding, the amount available to grant is directly related to the market performance of investments in the previous year. Our investment portfolio was down approximately 15% in 2022. In addition a private foundation added $36,000 of additional funds last year but not this year. These conditions combined to make the total granted in 2023 about 18% less than what was available in 2022.

$307,477 was awarded in 123 grants to 58 organizations.

Tompkins Today and Tomorrow made 42 grants totaling $143,673.

12 Donor Advised Funds made 71 grants totaling $114,650. (THANK YOU Donor Advisor Partners!)

5 Field of Interest Funds made 10 grants totaling $49,154
